Life of Kivy

A journey so far..
My thoughts
This page is about the ideas and thoughts i have to improve my city and particularly education in my city. I belong to a small township Sunam. It does not offer much of the modern amenities but a lovely place with the village like feel in the atmosphere and clean hearted people.

I believe education is the most important thing in terms of developing a country or to upscale common man's life. I also believe that one person can change the world, can win the mountains, cut the rivers and turn anything in one's favor. Of course it requires talent and GUTs as well!

I might not be talented but I have enough Guts to get the things done. I will use this page to put all my thoughts so that it keeps me reminding of my goal.

As i mentioned on my passionz page, i am a geek, crazy about puzzles and the way i see, most of the research these days is linked to recreational maths in one way or other. Be it desiging new language, Quantam theory, Multisensing technology or desiging high scale graphics, it is mathematics everywhere. I want to instill analytical skills in kids and young generation and infact everybody.

> Thoughts

1) I want to start with my city and organize a puzzle competition to make people aware. It would an open to all contest with No Age limit and Free entry. I am planning to do this in association with some good and reputed schoool in the town in near future. Of course, there will be prizes to win :-)

2) I want to reward best students in the schools of my city in terms of free education / Scholarship etc. I want to implement a model of free education for the toppers of a class in next session. This will encourage students to do their best in academics. (presently this is not happening in most of the schools of my city)

3) I also want to reward kids for Punctuality and regularity in terms of attending school. (in long run, in every profession)

4) I want to open a public library with good collection of books. This is one of the most important things my city lacks. It has got a public library but with books of early 50's which nobody cares to read. also, either people are not encouraged to read books or they dont get the latest stuff and books they are looking for.

5) I want to setup a group of volunteers to help poor or needy - be it their basic need for food, education expenses, medicine or anything. The group would be accessible on 24*7 basis over phone. This of course demands a lot of money for basic setup and needs continuous funding. I have plans on how to arrange to same.

6) This is a big world and one gets lost easily. I felt the same when i got lost in Delhi wondering which way to take to airport! Believe me there are no sign boards in such a big and cosmopolitan city and if you are not well versed with the area you are gone and you are by yourself. Imagine the mental situation of a person lost in a city (big or small) wasting hrs figuring out how to reach destination intime (of course you can hire a cab but thats not the solution)

This provokes me to think that would it be nicer to have some more of those 'Here you are' maps and sign-boards across the city. I would like to have quite a few in my city as well. Not sure if these so called beurocrate have got some minds! I wonder why the thought have not occured to them yet. Anyways...

7) Would it be nice to hang a few 'Official' public complaint boxes at few places in all the cities to direct public compaints to the management or counsil. That way the officials will be more readily accessible to 'aam janta'. Just a thought!
